Hi,
Recently my friend made a map (it’s currently WIP) for my game “Delivery Simulator”,
I would love your thoughts and feedback or suggestions you may have on this.
Some buildings I would recommend mixing the buildings around to add variety to the map. Its alright as shown, but could do with just that small improvement.
I’m not exactly a fan of seeing the same stylized building model several times, and the fact that the buildings take from only 1 of 3 styles, while all being seperated into very obvious groups.
There’s a large lack of variety, which I’d say makes it look plain and repetitive.
Both on ground level, and sky level, there’s nothing really making any specific buildings pop out, and I’d get the feeling of just driving through the same parts over and over even though in reality I would be moving through the city.
This map of your game looks good, I’d say it’s too plain though. You should add street/traffic lights, benches, garbage cans, plants, and other city decorations around. Other than that, it’s good!
This is a problem i still don’t have a solution to.
For the map, my friend uses the “Synty City Pack”, but it has a style that no other asset packs i could find have, i’m still looking for a solution to this problem, so if you have a solution to this please be sure to let me know!
I’ve messed around a fair bit with that pack as well. I would also recommend remixing some of the meshes that the pack uses with whatever 3D modeling software they use. It could help to expand the variations of buildings used. I would also look into coloring some of the buildings, seeing different color of variations could help give the perspective of different buildings.
It really depends on the style of the map, do they plan on using detailed textures? or
use the low poly textures?
Edit: I also added a link to a Roblox place by Reference Games. Hopefully their place creation can give them some inspirations
