Feedback on my open world, roleplaying game

I just conducted a beta test for my game and unraveled an enormous amount of bugs and onboarding issues.

However, most troubling is my realization that maybe my game has inherent gameplay flaws that cannot be easily bug fixed/onboarded away.

The game is an open world, political sandbox game.

Players can:

  • Build houses on their plot
  • Capture territory
  • Run for council and vote on laws
  • Become the leader (through faction warfare)
  • Or be an outcast/criminal.

I feel like I overbuilt features without properly testing whether or not they will interact with other systems seamlessly.

Here is the link to the game, adequate onboarding, tutorials, and some towns are missing.

Do you think the game is salvageable?

The current UI movement/animation made me feel motion sick, so I couldn’t fully test the game. You might want to consider adding an option to make the UI static or reduce the animation intensity.

Hey rocket598473! I played Hello Spire: Testing Grounds on stream and wow, this is a really ambitious project. I love how you mixed building, combat, territory control, and even elections into one game. The world looks great and the concept feels super original for Roblox. At the same time, I ran into some bugs (menus not closing, etc.) and felt a bit lost without much guidance on what to do next. With some polish and clearer onboarding, I think this game could stand out as something really cool.

My Scores: Gameplay 7 • Visuals 8 • Originality 9 • Polish 4 | Games Radar
