Some things you need to work on are making the space less empty, (maybe make it smaller) Add some NPC’s so that if you’re playing alone you can play with that. I still left a like though

Hello!

First: I feel like GUIs would be make the game look better!

Second: the map is a bit plane, I know it is called “…on a baseplate” but you have a few things on it, add some more!

Third: it’s a bit gory, like the head explodes into blood and small parts.

Other then that, I love you the wepaen animations and the idea, keep up the good work! And hope this helps!

Thanks for the opinions, might go a little less with the gore but im not sure for now

I was contemplating adding npcs, and i might do.
thanks for the opinion tho

Seems like a okay game concept but here is my criticism.
These are mostly my opinion and should be taken with a small grain of salt.

I also understand that your game is probably still in a very early stage so I don’t expect immediate improvement or changes.
Just sharing my thoughts here.

  • Might wanna change the shift-lock key to Ctrl since Shift is already occupied by sprint ability.

  • Character tilt effect for some reason gets disabled while holding a weapon.

  • Blood/gore is too simple and lags, it spawns a lot of parts.
Also completely lacks details like a wound on the location where the head/arm was.
Suggestion: use particle effects, add stains and maybe add a menu to customize it further and a toggle for people who don’t want to see blood.

(Pro tip, use raycasts for blood stains instead of parts hitting the ground, they allow you to get information like the direction of a surface.)

  • Katana swings way too fast, feels unrealistically swift, meanwhile the baseball bat has the opposite problem, maybe make the animations slower and add some weight?

  • Weapons feel very weak in general, it takes like 30 hits from a katana to kill something. Baseball bat seems mostly fine.

  • Weapon swing animation feels like the weapon is is held too close to the character, the player could extend their arms a bit more and throw a bit more waist movement into it.

  • Having a NPC with a simple AI that fights back would be nice for single-player.

  • (In later stage of development) game modes? Free for all and team deathmatch? Player vs NPC?

  • Finishing/fatality move that can be performed on weak / low-HP players.
Purely optional but would be cool.

  • Make blunt weapons like baseball bat have a small chance to stun?
Optional but would be great and make sense.

  • Use mouse position / look height to slightly adjust shoulders so you can aim high or low with a weapon and target specific body parts?
    Also purely optional.

  • Adding onto the above point, limb damage system?
Head injury makes vision a bit blurry or causes random black-out,
damaged arms decrease strength / accuracy,
legs decrease walk speed or make you randomly stumble / not walk straight.

Those are just some ideas.
I assume what you’re going for is a melee fighting game with some mechanics?

Thank you for the critism, most of these ideas are considered and might be in the game
