Feedback on my WW2 game

Hello! this is daniko (my username says danikazio) and this is my first post on Devforum! i was working on a game called Peleliu Assault 44 it’s based on a real event, on the WW2 (not about germans) Peleliu was a Japanese occupied island on the Pacific, my script level is very low, soon i’ll use some gun kit, the screenshots are under that!

Is this supposed to be Normandy France on D-Day?

Its Peleliu as stated in the description, so its occupied by the Japanese rather then the Germans. Though, I do see what you mean by D-DAY.

no, this is from the Pacific war, the difference between the germans is the USMC they didn’t fight in france

It’s just a quick drawing of the map (omg… I’ll have to make a lot of changes…)

You should probably add more amphibious tracked vehicles, as well as some pill boxes, that would make the map look more like a battlefield.

More trench lines and shell craters would make it better both visually and gameplay wise, as it would make the map look more creative as well as give players somewhere to take cover.

Some models in the map look a bit bad but still is decent.

Looks really great! Only thing is you could add some bushes in the tree area and add in more detail to the ships.

From a large scale it looks pretty good, but there are some changes that could be made. The beach could be bigger, and the journey from ship to beach could be longer, resulting in the ships being moved back. On a smaller scale, a lot more detail could be added. Barbed wire and more anti-tank traps on the beach, more debris further inland, maybe some fallen trees and more structures. Also, a suggestion referring to gameplay, perhaps an artillery mechanic that allows players to shell areas from the rear or call in inaccurate strikes on the front?

the game still has no artillery, when I put it, I’ll put it on some ships, like destroyers, in the case of the Japanese, I’ll put it on the bloody ridge (which I haven’t done yet) i’m using a mini serie to make the map, the mini serie is extremely realistic, probably they studied about the island, and google images

oh, and i forgot i had made a big mistake, but i think I fixed it

later I’ll make some hangars with some bombers and i’ll make lot’s of Foxholes (bombed holes), comparing with the map it’s the same

This is really cool! I’m a history nerd and the Pacific Theatre is one of my favourite topics to cover when reviewing WW2. Though there’s only one thing that is a bit off to me and that’s that the terrain doesn’t blend whatsoever here.

oh yeah… I’ll try to blend later… uhm… idk how lol, i was thinking about make a battleship? maybe later, but i think I’ll finish the airfield first then make the bloody ridge.

The map itself looks really good. I would just add more ground cover, like bushes and shrubs. I would improve the ship models and maybe change the gameplay aspect of the landing craft to make your game stand out from the many other games of similar circumspect.

Yeah, I’m doing this, in the airfield, but now I’m uhmmmm studying the Peleliu island, to make the bloody nose ridge, there is a cave there, called 1000 men cave, later I’ll send more photos
