We began our first Roblox game called Megapixel in July. It’s a pixel art game. At this point we set the foundation and are ready to add more fun. There are so many possibilities for where to take the game and we wanted to ask this community if they had ideas. We’re specifically looking for some fun game mechanics but any feature additions would be welcomed as well.
The focus on community sets the game apart from other pixel art games, once the museum has been worked on I think it will be good that players can have pride in their work being shown to others. Some feedback I have about the game is that it needs multiple save slots for your canvas and more tools for the user to use such as a paint bucket tool which you have already discussed in-game with me.
Defiantly recruit some moderators for your game. Children tend to do…some innapropriate things. Or, you could install a player kick system where if 3-4/5ths of the server agrees to kick someone they get kicked from all servers for maybe 30 minutes.
I just got done playing it on mobile, the gameplay was awesome and it seems like an awesome idea. The only problem I have is that the camera can not move while I am in paint mode, it kind of stays in one position. Other than that great game!
Something weird happened and i got stuck sitting on the sofa, then i worked out its cos you set the jump button to change black and white? need to reassign the space bar or remove the sitting or something… Anyways very cool idea, it would be cool to have like different brush sizes and stuff, and maybe make it so all the walls of your house are paintable surfaces… anyways very cool keep up the work
The vote to kick is a good idea. In the spawn Place there is a community painting area but it resets when the server shuts down. Similarly, players private spaces are only visible while they are in the game which limits exposure of anything inappropriate. There are community painting spaces in other Places in the game. Some are open to all and others are limited based on group permissions. Moderators are given a tool to inspect pixels any troubling pixels and can delete all pixels painted by that given player as well as to ban them.
@PotatoVampire7797 I’ll look into that bug your described.
@Designxted we spent a good amount of time getting mobile to work so glad you like that. Not sure why overhead wasn’t moving as it should. Are you on iOS or Android? I’ve only tested on iOS.
@Greeny_Alien thanks for the suggestions here and in the game and on Discord! I think you’re right that there needs to be more focus on community.
I am on IOS, the controls and gameplay were easy but yes that’s my only thing, I can not adjust my camera when I am in the painting mode
