Feedback on Swords? (Fixed)

Hello I am 12904… Currently working on a game entitled “Sword Simulator.”

We recently acquired the game in a deal with a YouTuber named MelihKardes. Before we release it we decided to redo several aspects of the game such as new Swords… Me and my business partner have been having a slight disagreement with the style of swords… I would love your opinion on which style best suits the game and the reasoning behind it!

So which style do you think best suits the game??

  • First Batch
  • Second Batch

Based on the pictures, the second batch of swords do not fit whatsoever, I would think the cartoony ones are more representative of the game in question.

You break-a my heart, 12904 is going to win this for sure. </3

I wouldn’t think of this as a competition, I’m fairly sure you both want the game to succeed.

The first batch of swords match with the cartoon feel of the game, hence why I voted first batch. Second batch looks dope, but I’d recommend not using them in the game because they’d look rather out of place.

I’m going to have to go with the first. The second one doesn’t match the overall build style of the game.

The first one matches the most.

The different styles of swords are very well done, the first batch of swords have that cartoony feel to it i would think these ones would fit the. Best inside your game because your game, is that kind of style since the second batch of swords! They look great but i won’t put those ones inside this kind of game since your not going. For a sword fighting game but a more cartoony game but if you were making a sword, battle game featuring these swords i would say, the second batch would be great in those kind of! Games but the one you are making these kind of swords. Won’t fit in the whole cartoon style your currently making, overall the first batch has a nice style to it.

But based on the different pictures, i wouldn’t choose the second batch since your going for a cartoony style you won’t see these kind of. Swords in a cartoon game but a more cartoon, sword it would match the whole style your, going for since your not going for just a regular game. I would just add the first batch instead of the second! Batch but overall both of the batches still look good!

The first one fits more with the Smooth Plastic and Low Poly aesthetic of the game, the second would fit for a game that is more intensive on textures, materials and polygons, also, both batches of swords look a bit odd, I’d use the Metal or Diamond Plate material if I were you, but that’s just my opinion on the looks of the swords.

I like both, however I do think the second batch are better in my opinion.

Both sets of weapon models are nice, bit it’s clear that the first batch fits the style of the levels better with their flat texturing. It’s also possible that you could update the level to match the detail of the second batch of weapons.

They’re both really good, but the second batch fits more to the build style. In my opinion, the second batch would fit more to an RPG with detailed builds.

Batch 2 is too detailed for your style of game. Batch one brings a more cartoony feel with it, which works well when juxtaposed with the “basic” (in the sense of part usage, quality, colours etc) theme of your game.

On an unrelated note, having humanoids with the default health bars isn’t something I’d advise, considering how simple it is to create your own custom health UI with basic maths (e.g. scale (0-1) of health bar = health/maxHealth), I’d advise you do so, since it makes the game look vastly more professional, especially considering that the enemies are probably going to be interacting with the players a lot more than any individual sword (since you buy new swords, but the health UIs would generally be the same for all enemies).

The second batch definitely looks better but I feel that the first batch looks fits the situation better than the second one.
