I need help what can I add to make it look more like a desert/Canyons, plus abandoned?

You should make some parts not look so square by adding curves and not look so close

Regarding the build itself, it’s a great start i just feel like the canyon isn’t quite showing in the build try adding props that feel abandoned such as vegetation hanging from the rocks different variety of shapes and formation of rocks and more.
If you already have this planned out and currently adding different props, i would try making it more related to the style you want abandoned places normally don’t have human activity anymore meaning vegetation and objects should be worn down. From the images that you provided while it looks good, the place is quite simplistic and repetitive. The rocky formation, in the images look quite square looking perhaps add variation into them.
You could experiment into using some vegetation and different rocks canyon normally have many types of rocks in different shapes. There are countless ways to improve your canyon build to make it more realistic and decent, gather a few reference images to get some general ideas on what is missing and what’s needed.
