Hey there, I’m x5tb and I want to get into detailed building. So I’ve been working on a project recently of a room, This room is going to have a lot more in it so ignore the fact that its empty. I have a few questions on my progress
How does it look?
Anything I should add/fix?
Any way to make it better?
Is the wood grain correct?
Does it have a good choice of color?
Do you know a way to improve the lighting?
Are the proportions correct?
Please be descriptive with your answers. Anything you can answer here is a great help to this project.
Looks good, but remember that wood grain almost always runs the length of a board, so the grain should be positioned to run the longest dimension of the wood Parts you create for a more realistic effect. Items like the window frames and the trim wood in the corners are items I see in your build.
Chair rails (the divider strip that you have running around above the red boards) were placed there to protect walls from the back of chairs that might bump up against them. These ones appear to be above head height of your Dummy.
The scale of the room seems a bit tall for your Dummy. Try to think of the real world if you are attempting to recreate something that looks ‘right’. How many times have you walked into a room like this and had the bottom of the window at eye level? Also the window latch in the center of the window looks like it’s about 10 feet high when your Dummy is next to it.
Alright so I’ve took everything you said into consideration. The fix looks like I have to lower the size of the room, Then I could lower the Chair rails and the window ect. Which should fix everything. So it looks here that the problem is that the room is too tall.
Other then that the wood grain is an easy fix and I will do that shortly using the material flip plugin. Thanks for the feedback, Looks like you know alot about this stuff. I’ll be shortly updating it so you can see the result.
