[FEEDBACK] - Retro Adventure

Hey everyone,

following the release of my game The Terminal, I learnt a lot of things. Many in which have lead me to work on my newest project: Retro Adventures.

Any feedback is welcome, I would truly love to hear any ideas or suggestions!

Hey! Have you tried putting the UI to the left bottom corner of the screen? I feel as it could look better that way.

I checked out the terminal yesterday, and it looked really impressive! It seems like you’re involved in some amazing projects!

And I’m on board with this idea!

I’m actually working on something similar to this, I have some feedback:

  • Try playing around with the camera’s angle. Isometrism is fun and can provide a relief if head-on gets boring
  • Maybe decrease the FOV, it’s a bit hard to focus on the player’s character.
  • This is more personal, but the camera lagging behind the avatar makes me irrationally angry. I was doing a similar thing and ultimately scrapped it, as having the player’s avatar away from the center of the screen during extended periods of walking gets annoying, especially when you see more of what’s behind you than what’s ahead of you.

i think maybe it could also be better if the camera lag went faster but also lagged in the direction the player is going and not behind

cant judge much since its a test build, but it looks like it will be awesome!

I think objects should become half-transparent if they are between the camera and the player

following up my initial post, since someone reported me for spam (my bad).

here is a bit of the bare bones of what Off The Blocks (formerly ‘retro adventures’) enchantment system is looking like so far.
