Hi, I’m back with my finished Low-Poly type house! Please rate it and give me suggestions to improve or just your opinion on it. This is probably my first Low-Poly type build, aside from the car in my Introduction/Portfolio thing.
Try making the frames of the window smaller.
The window at the bottom looks stretched and not natural.
Make the door smooth plastic.
Adjust the windows and doors so they don’t bulge out of the house.
You’re focussing a tad bit too hard on colour when the problem is the constitution of the build. The window frames are too blocky, the roof is one-sided, and the chimney is too small. The door has no detail whatsoever – as in, it lacks a frame and a handle. Yes, the colour is slightly odd inasmuch that everything seems way too colourful, but I think that should be a secondary concern to a novice builder.
Instead of jumping in the deep end trying to build a perfect “low-poly” house, focus on objectivity. Subjectivity comes later.
Create, to the best of your ability, a detailed door or a table for example. First you must master detail before you master the art of simplicity.
And when building low poly, the only 2 materials you should use are Smooth Plastic and Neon. Here’s an example that I’ve made using neon and smooth plastic
My build example
This is one of my builds, its not that good but it may be helpful
Finally, I suggest making the base of the house a shade of blue like this:
The color of the roof is dull (The roof is also too flat). Also, the windows are protruding too much. The window on the bottom looks like it got stretched, the chimney could be thicker too and should be longer. Focus on the detail of the building first, like improving the windows and door then think of the color scheme.
Here’s an idea for a low-poly;
It’s pretty basic, but you could use as a reference.
