few of my friends and I released a Doors/Rooms game a month ago!
and currently we are working on releasing the first update while also completing some missing elements that we couldn’t add on the release cuz we rushed a little bit >_>
here’s the game link if you’re interested in trying it!
currently we’re using free non-copyrighted sound effects for the game, the next update will feature a whole set of original sound effects made specifically for the game! ^^
the Gates with Red effects are Cursed gates, you use the Blue Spirit that you found to Clear/Unlock the Gate…just get close to the Gate and hold E until the gate is open!!
once again thank you so much for trying the game and we hope you enjoy it!
I tried that originally, but I guess I was not standing close enough to the gate.
I replayed and (with your input) was able to start getting through the gates.
Maybe make the ProximityPrompt have more range.
I made it to the 006 gate and entered. Then I died for what was, at the time, an unkown reason.
Maybe a tip to know why there are hiding bushes would be helpful.
After dying, I really didn’t want to go back through 5 gates to get back to where I was. The reason is that getting to gate 006 was not a challenge; it just took time to uncover each pile of leaves.
So maybe respawn in last location — or even better – make each section unique and difficult.
To get ideas for how to make each section between the gates unique, you might check out gameplay of Dragon’s Lair from the 80s:
We’ve already remade the room generation code for the next update to handle and load rooms in a fairer manner. For example, having large rooms in the first 10 rooms won’t be a thing in the next patch!
That being said, most of the current large rooms have been reworked to be more enjoyable rather than frustrating (as many players complained about them, so we responded! ^^).
Currently, the game is quite repetitive due to a lack of rooms since we rushed the release. The next version will fix this by adding over 60+ new rooms, at least!
Lastly, regarding the “Reviving” feature you asked about, it won’t be added to this game. You either complete the game in a single run or fail; the game is meant to be challenging and difficult.
The only condition where we’re considering adding Reviving is by disabling achievements after reviving. From our community poll, people voted against having a reviving feature if it meant not being able to gain achievements, and that’s settled!
Once again, thank you for your feedback and for playing the game. We hope you enjoyed it! ^^
