My team and I are working on a football/soccer game inspired by FIFA/PES. Because the camera is far from the pitch, we’re running into major rendering limitations.
The Issue
At Graphics Level 1 and 2, critical objects like players, goals, adboards, the stadium, and fans do not render due to distance culling. This makes the game unplayable on low graphics.
Question
Is there any way to force Roblox to render these important objects regardless of the user’s graphics level?
Any solutions or workarounds would be appreciated.
Unfortunately not, we’ve been asking for years for a split between graphic fidelity and the render distance but they still keep it under one slider.
Only thing you could really do is try to optimize your game as best you can for a minimum graphic level like 3 and run it off from there. It does suck but people with poor hardware are kind of used to these kind of things.
Alternatively while not as pretty or practical really you could use viewports for highly important objects but they won’t look good, just an idea.
That sucks. I hope soon they will do something about this since i have to force my players to play in min. level 3 graphics.
I’m also making my own settings for graphical instances, so if roblox in the future allow creators to apply a min. graphical level for a experience or even better if they allow them with new APIs to make their custom one, it will be a big step for the development.
