Formatting and Text Issues in Roblox’s Privacy and Cookie Policy Update

This report documents three apparent formatting and text issues identified in Roblox’s Privacy and Cookie Policy update page.

The findings are organized into three issues below, with the relevant section and subsection noted for each occurrence.

1. Duplicate Period

Section: Privacy Policy Section 2 (Are you Under 13 or responsible for an under-13-year-old?)

Subsection: Data retention → Age Assurance

Observed text:

We use age checks to determine whether you are old enough to access certain features..

Expected text:

We use age checks to determine whether you are old enough to access certain features.

Description:
The sentence contains two consecutive periods at the end. Only one period should be present.

2. Missing Space After Period

Section: Privacy Policy Section 3 (When we collect your information)

Subsection: Using Roblox features → Joining on a VR platform

Observed text:

Expected text:

This information is only used to provide the experience. We do not store this information.

Description:
There is no space between the period ending the first sentence and the beginning of the next sentence.

3. White Overlay / Rendering Issue

Section: Privacy Policy Section 4 (When we share your information)

Subsection: We may share Personal Information where necessary → For legal reasons or to help prevent a crime

Affected text:

in response to requests under laws governing online safety, such as the Australian Online Safety Act

Description:
A white overlay or rendering artifact appears over the text beginning around in response to requests under laws governing, causing the affected portion of the text to appear partially obscured by a white layer.

Expected behavior:
The text should be displayed normally without any unintended white overlay or visual obstruction.

Also, could you address this one as well?

In Privacy Policy Section 7 → If you live in Brazil → Categories of Personal Information and Data Processing Purposes → Using Roblox Features, there is no space between the first Roblox Facial Animation Privacy Notice link and “and”. It currently appears as Roblox Facial Animation Privacy Noticeand, so a space should be added there.

In Privacy Policy Section 7 → If you live in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK) or Switzerland → Categories of Personal Information and Data Processing Purposes, there are several instances where sec.1 is missing a space after the period:

  • Using Roblox Features, item 6: Article 6 sec.1 sent. 1 lit. c
  • If you’re a developer or creator, the only item: Article 6 sec.1 sent. 1 lit. f
  • Other purposes for collecting your information, the only item contains Article 6 sec.1 sent. 1 lit. f twice.

In all of these cases, there should be a space between sec. and 1, so they should read sec. 1, consistent with the rest of the Privacy Policy.
