The forum is visible to all Roblox users and in the settings there is no way to configure who the forum is visible to. Before I activated the forum, in the group settings I could set for individual roles who could see group shout and group wall. After activating the forum I no longer have any influence on this and in the forum settings I can only choose which roles can write or delete posts, I can no longer set who can see the forum.
The fact that every Roblox user can read the forum may not be to the liking of some group owners and some group members. As a group owner, I would like to be able to configure who can see the forum content. Not everyone wants every Roblox user to be able to read the content of the forum, for example because they want to maintain a certain level of privacy, because access to the content in the forum should be a privilege for the group members, or because it may be content that a competing group could use (e.g. ideas for the next creation).
I hope that it will be possible to configure this because unfortunately for this reason I have no way to communicate with group members at the moment - because I can no longer write in the group wall and I also do not want the discussions in the forum to be visible to every user. It’s a pity that there is no way to undo this and return to the group wall until the final version of the forum is developed.
Is this even a bug in the first place? Because you’re the one requesting this change. If forums are publicly visible to everyone and there’s no setting to change that, then this should be considered a feature request. After all, you’re asking for that feature to be added, and this misuse the bug reports category.
I noted above that I don’t know if it’s a bug or not, and you don’t know either. My group has the ability to test the forum early, so as a tester I have the right to report something that I consider a bug. I don’t think the forum will ultimately have fewer configuration options than a group wall (and for a group wall I could set who it was visible to) and that it would have to be visible to every Roblox user without the ability to configure it. I’m waiting for a response from Roblox Staff because your guesses are of no help.
