Why do so many forum user take it upon themselves to police thread topics, especially when it could be in multiple places? This is very strange behavior, these are not forum moderators just randoms spending time with snotty posts correcting the thread topic placement. Very strange behavior in my opinion.

If it is not in the correct forum thread topic then it is irrelevant to the topic your talking about
right, if it is in the obvious wrong spot, but many posts could probably be put in multiple places and be pretty close to where they should be. For example, I posted in collaboration about my motorcycle script that wasn’t working, I wanted to pay someone to fix it. However, I blasted with posts by, non moderators, that stated is should be in scripting help. Then it turned into an argument among other people that since I was looking to hire it was actually in the right place. These non moderator police are spamming posts trying to be something they are not. Happened to me again today.
In your case, you are correct. But the post must be according to the intention of what the post is
Yes, I get that. However, unless you are on here alot and a hardcore regular the topics can be kind of confusing to get them in the right spot all the time. Now, I was not able to get help because my post is spammed now and if I repost the same topic I’ll be flagged. These non moderator police need to stop.
Long story short: People flags posts so the moderators can go on and see what is happening and decide if it should be or not deleted, which makes their work atleast easier since they won’t require to go through each new topic and instead they would just go through every topic/post flagged.
In your case, you can just flag their posts so the moderators could delete them (maybe not all of them, just one and the moderators will already go through the topic I think)
I am not talking about the flaggers, that is how it should be. I am talking about the people that go and comment their opinion on post placement.
Basically commenting in the topic that your OP is in the wrong category shouldn’t be made, instead they should’ve DMed you OR just flagged the topic as off-topic so you could put it in the other category/ mods could do it.
I already got DMs of some mods about that.

This cannot be stopped, unless somehow DevRel is able to stop them. Just flag their post saying it’s spam, as it is just clutter and they should just flag it.

There should be an explicit rule against backseat moderating because it always ends up in pointless spam. But you can always flag replies which do this and don’t contribute to the thread since it probably falls under the offtopic rule.

Yes. Wholeheartedly agree it should be against the rules.
Mini-modding is already against the rules, it falls as either off-topic or spam, as it is not related to the spirit of your topic, or it can be considered unsolicited reply.
As the title explains that someone is “Mini-Modding” as @sjr04 said, it’s against the rules.
