I have been an active member of the Roblox community for the past 17 years. In that time, I have lived the majority of my life, learning about game development, making some of my closest friends, and generally dreaming new and better things than I ever could have on my own.
I recently have finished creating an experience that I think aligns with ongoing trends on-platform and was excited to begin running ads for it, as I have continued to do since I released my first Roblox game 12 years ago.
Unfortunately, despite numerous attempts, my ad campaigns continually have been denied, with no other information than a hover notification on the rejection text that says “The campaign cannot serve. The experience has been suspended.” My immediate assumption was that I had somehow triggered the filter with a misunderstanding, but no, despite my best efforts, I still cannot upload a successful ad campaign for this experience. I have attempted changing my wording, genre, and categorization in general to no avail. I am aware that there have allegedly been ongoing issues with the ad manager, but its wording that it was only related to discovery made me think I might be suffering from a separate issue.
I certainly would not have resolved to posting on the forums if I weren’t at the end of my options, but I had a tight timeline that I planned to release this game under, and its fate is in jeopardy (I assume) due to red tape. Any help is appreciated.
Yeah it’s said that at the top for the past few days and I was curious if that was the cause. It does explicitly say the issue is related to “reporting” though which makes me think it’s not causing this, but at this point I’m really not sure? There’s nothing questionable about the experience.
Apparently, you need to change your Roblox game’s name if it’s too similar to an existing game. My game was originally called Head Touch Soccer, and I changed it to Head Ball. After doing that, everything suddenly started working, as there were no other games close to that name or exact name.
I believe this may be part of a new policy. After changing the name, my previously rejected ads suddenly started running over time.
If you want to make sure your game’s name is okay, you can check whether your game appears on your Home page after playing it once. You can also check the Creator Dashboard to see if the Warning exposure message has disappeared.
At least in my case, once that warning was gone and I changed the name, everything started working again.
You’re exactly right! I too had that warning and was curious what specifically was the problem, but changing the name of the game to something slightly more specific has also fixed my issue. Thank you very much for the help and I hope your game does well!
Sure would have liked not losing a week of time due to Roblox failing to communicate effectively, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers.
