With the release of the new Roblox UGC emotes update, I noticed that every costume in my game seems to fully replace the Roblox emote menu with the one tied to those costumes.
As an example, I have emotes disabled but when using one of these costumes, the emote menu gets replaced with an enabled one that can use 2 emotes I have equipped.
However, this emote menu applies to anyone using the costume and not just myself.
The “Animate” script used by your models could be using an unmodified version. Play the game, copy the Animate script from your default character and try pasting it into your models, make sure to delete the old Animate scripts in the models first though.
If the issue is specifically that players are able to use emotes with the custom models, have you tried deleting the “PlayEmote” remote function and then deleting all functions and references regarding playing emotes? Probably a less sophisticated idea but it could definitely work.
Yes, removing the remote function will cause errors, you’ll have to track those down in the script and remove the references and functions regarding the remote completely, im not sure if this will get rid of the emote UI but the emotes will be unusable for sure.
Edit: The emote gui can be disabled using SetCoreGuiEnabled()
