Game has horrendously low stats, like/dislike ratio going down, need help

About 1.5 weeks ago (from the time of me writing this post), I’ve released a game called Pixel Colouring by Number (Pixel Colouring by Number | Play on Roblox) (the game is about colouring various pixel art images, similarly to how mobile games on Google Play/App Store like Pixel Art - Color by Number work); I have also started spending some R$ on Ads at the same time as well (16 Ad Credits/day, running continuously)

There is one pretty big problem though: I just can’t get the stats (like avg. playtime, D1 retention) up to at least the 50th percentile (which is my goal, though achieving it looks pretty tricky for this game). Also: dislikes have been going up for whatever reason pretty recently, which is pretty confusing to me, since the game used to have a pretty neat like/dislike ratio (it used to be at 80%, then 66%, and then it just kept going down all the way to 46% at the time of me writing this). The current stats are, quite frankly, horrendous; take a look:

I’m also seeing a trend: phone users tend to have the lowest average playtime compared to all other device users; maybe it’s something related to UX on phones?:

I have also checked client crashes (which has almost never happened except for maybe like 20-30 times in total throughout the game being public), average framerate (which is, quite frankly, the norm according to performance stats (about 55-60)), error reports (haven’t spotted anything that’d denote a major in-game mechanic problem, mostly it’s just background noise like “Failed to load sound: Timeout” or “Failed to load animation with sanitized ID. Animation failed to load”

I have also taken my time to read the feedback (I’ve also added an in-game “Feedback” feature so that users could submit some feedback to the game more directly without having to like/dislike it), though that did not really help out; most feedback given is either vague, off-topic, people spamming their keyboards, or simply positive feedback (which doesn’t explain the poor stats):

(if you’re wondering what’s up with the downvote on July 30th, I also don’t exactly know myself about that; I’ve checked error logs specifically near that timestamp that can be pointing to the “game not working” problem; my current guess is because the player may not have understood how to play the game (as there wasn’t a tutorial feature at that time (which I’ve added pretty recently))

Speaking of tutorials, I have added a tutorial feature 2 days ago (at the time of me writing this) as an attempt to combat the low average playtime and potentially rising wave of dislikes (which did not work out as I thought it would, which is pretty unfortunate). I have also started logging funnel steps to figure out where do players give up throughout the tutorial (and how many manage to actually complete it), but for whatever reason, 81.11% don’t complete Step 1! (which, for context, in order to complete it, you simply need to click on “Next” in the first tutorial dialogue window, nothing else is needed):

It’d be amazing if someone were to check the game out and see what’s possibly (truly even) going on with the game’s statistics (and, optionally, maybe provide some honest feedback in regards to first impressions upon joining, how the tutorial plays out in general, how’s it like to play the game on a mobile phone and if you have ever encounted a bug or anything else that may want you to leave the game or such), since I myself have no idea at this point on what could be causing this

Thanks

That 81% drop on step 1 is the biggest red flag here. Have you actually tested it on a real phone, not just Studio’s emulator? Emulator often misses stuff like small touch hitboxes or safe area overlap, and mobile’s also where your playtime looks worst

I would guess it’s because on mobile when you try to draw your camera moves, making it nearly impossible to just draw. It’s a good game just people on mobile would not want to play like this.

I have tested it out on a real mobile phone pretty recently, everything seemed to work fine for me apart from the pretty small hitbox for fingers to click on the pixels; I could try to make the canvas 2x (or 1.5x) bigger if the player is on a mobile device, maybe that could make a difference (hopefully)

Speaking of the main tutorial window, I haven’t encountered any problems while navigating through it on my mobile device

There’s a Lock Camera button on the bottom left of the screen, it should prevent the camera dragging around when drag painting on mobile

Alright, maybe make it more noticeable, but maybe I just flew past it.
