Hello, I’ve always wanted to make an actual Roblox game, but since I have to study a lot I barely have any time.
When I try to come up with my own ideas they always grow into something bigger than I initially intended.
So I’m turning to Roblox community for help. I ask you to give me some game ideas with just the core mechanics, so I can practice my skills. Since these ideas won’t be mine, I hopefully won’t feel the urge to expand on them too much and will be able to release them as actual games.
Only help out if you’re feeling altruistic — you most likely won’t get anything from this, though I’m absolutely crediting you for the ideas.
Real quick before you read below, only release the game once you’re done with most of the concepts. Don’t add anything else until you have a functional game. Im not saying that you can’t upload your game so it’s bland, it’s just most of these ideas are quick and easy to be made.
From what you said earlier, about the urge to expand on the game too much, I’d personaly just release it when it’s working. Maybe add 1 or maybe 2 at most updates on release. Sorry this was kinda long.
Obby game
Short, easy to make. Issue is once players beat it, they most likley won’t come back. (Game Core Loop)
Clicker game
Different than an obby in the sense its not about skill, but more a chill and fun game to play. Yet again though, the core loop isn’t that great. Unless you can add a rebirth button, but that’ll kinda delay the release.
Tycoon game
Most players with a lot of time will likely finish the tycoon if it’s short. Little bit more on the complex side, but it’s lots of fun to see a lot of the upgrades and new stuff. But just like all the other games so far, core loop.
Hide N’ Seek’
Hide n seek games can be fun especially with friends. Nice little addition could be special doors and nooks to hide in. For once this actually has a good core loop, as it could have a round system.
Arena PvP
Players PvP in an arena with weapons of any kind. Most of these games are pretty fun, but most of them fail with poor quality on the game. However these have a good coreloop.
Horror Escape
Can be fun with friends and even alone. However these can get repetitive as you learn to know the maps. With light monstors that chase you, mini puzzles and mazes, it’s a good option. Core loop is decent, but not the best. Depends on how you execute it.
Survival Waves game
Players either together or alone, try to survive the longest with tools at their disposal. Simple zombies or enemys spawn also increasing the difficulty of survival along the way. Core loop here is somewhat good.
