One of my games is locked to being 16+ despite my account meeting all of the requirements. Though the game is dead and has no active playerbase, it’s still an issue considering I went through the steps of providing my government ID to roblox, and will have to pay to publish to younger audiences after the free trial of plus is up.
The game was published prior to the stupid update, and got a few players prior to it, but it is entirely dead now. I don’t understand why the game was retroactively age gated to 16+ despite me meeting all requirements during the age-gate rollout. The only thing I can think of is it being under a group, but I own the group. I would like this resolved, if I was paying for plus, this would be unacceptable, and it still kind of is anyway.
Just wondering, did the game meet the 500 highly engaged player requirement? Unfortunately, the screenshot is missing it. To be eligible for all ages, your game needs to either have:
500 highly engaged players in the past 60 days (Not everyone is counted)
paid 100,000 refundable robux fee
Should be at the bottom of the “Audience Reach” page of your game
That’s what that means? That’s moronic. Roblox has strayed pretty far where it started. Quite the catch-22 to need 500 highly engaged 16+ players or pay 100,000 robux. Definitely makes it near impossible to get small games off the ground. Thanks for the insight.
There’s a reason Roblox’s stock is down 70% in a year I guess. Morons.
Its the “Refundable publishing fee”, that’s the one that is marked as exempt. Normally, you get prompted to pay for that fee if you aren’t already eligible with plus
The requirements are solely to make your game eligible to all ages. You can have your game available for 16+ by simply doing an age check. The 500 highly enagaged requirement and 1,000 robux fee is simply to get your game running for all ages
