Hey everyone,
I’m running into a strange issue when trying to fetch a player’s GamePasses using the official Roblox endpoint. My goal is simple to load and display a user’s on-sale GamePasses inside a donation booth system, the same way it’s done in many “Please Donate” style experiences.
This used to work perfectly for months, but recently the request started failing for every user.
What’s happening
The endpoint below no longer returns any data:
https://games.roblox.com/v1/games/<PLACEID>/game-passes?limit=50
Even when:
- The place is public
- The GamePasses are on sale
- The request is made from a valid Roblox server
Now it either returns an empty “data” array or fails with HTTP 400 / 403.
Here’s a quick example from my server logs:
[AssetManager | Warn] Failed to fetch GamePasses for placeId=7860275135, attempts left: 0
I’ve tried this with multiple accounts, places, and proxies — the result is always the same.
What I’ve tried so far
- Retried the request several times with random wait intervals
- Confirmed the GamePass is public and purchasable
- Tested through roproxy and the direct Roblox API
- Checked if this might be a rate-limit or permission issue
- Compared results with other donation systems — all show the same behavior
As a temporary fix, I switched to using the Catalog API:
https://catalog.roblox.com/v1/search/items?category=GamePass&creatorTargetId=<USERID>&limit=50
This endpoint still works and returns the player’s GamePasses, but it doesn’t allow filtering by specific place IDs like before.
Why it matters
Many donation-based experiences rely on this endpoint to show the creator’s GamePasses dynamically.
If it has been deprecated, it would help a lot to have official confirmation or documentation for the new recommended API.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can confirm if this is a deprecation or a bug.
I just want to make sure we’re using the right endpoint going forward.
