I wanted to play Combat Initiation today, but roblox had other plans. I could barely move my camera at all, move around, click stuff, etc.
Barely anyone’s talking about it on Twitter [other than coppa 2.0 and other useless stuff], and on Discord people said that “roblox’s not lagging”.
Is there anything I can do about this situation? Or wait till someone else talks about it?
Update: There’s a problem with ROBLOX’s built-in FPS Unlocker.
Game starts tweaking whenever i set my FPS to 144 - 240.
Additional note: Game freezes due to future lightning.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
[Keeping this as a temporary solution until i get a response from Crazyblox.]
I do not believe the FPS unlocker is the issue here, but I would need more context from you to make a reasonable assumption to help point you in the right direction.
Please could you share the following system specs:
CPU Model
Amount of RAM
GPU Model
Maximum display refresh rate that windows says for your system (Not Roblox)
Going by your video and your system specs, it’s safe to say that you need to be more conscious of how Roblox (And other programs) are configured to run. I wouldn’t consider Future Lighting to be viable to run on an Intel iGPU from 2019, so we need to explore methods that allow you to run games without pushing your system beyond what it’s capable of.
Do the following combined steps, there is a good chance you will improve your performance.
Set Roblox’s graphics slider to manual with a range of 1-3.
Personally I don’t like how setting 1 makes things in the distance disappear, but it does remove burden from the GPU if the constraints are that tight, so this is a matter of what you are comfortable setting this range to.
Set Roblox’s maximum FPS to 60.
Your system is not capable of running consistently above 60FPS in the average experience, and your system would really appreciate having more time in-between those frames to commit to anything Windows or your background tasks require, so in theory you get more consistent frames.
Configure your display to a lower resolution when playing Roblox
This one helps your system in a lot of ways; less pixels to render for the GPU, less memory to push around in a bottlenecked environment. This should net you improved performance.
Use BloxStrap to force Future Lighting off.
BloxStrap is a third party configuration tool for Roblox that allows you the ability to do various things, including forcing the lighting technology to not be Future Lighting for better performance. The only safe place to install BloxStrap from is via its GitHub or its website listed on its GitHub page; be mindful of this as google’s search results seem to be placing potentially-malicious sources at the top of the page.
Am I not too late to join yall conversation?
Experiencing the same issue, with a difference that if I play in fullscreen roblox stops to respond to any inputs, even ALT+F4 and such, even though its not lagging.
Only seems to happen on website version of the app as well
I always set my graphics quality to 2 [20%]. Anything above 3+ causes my game to not respond sometimes.
Used to play with 240 FPS [for whatever reason] but today my device said “naah i’m DONE with this” so welp, 60 FPS time.
There’s no issues with the display whatsoever. [1920 x 1080]
Set my “Prefered lightning technology” to “Chosen by game”.
Your system is more-than-capable of running Roblox at any setting; so I believe your issue is different to what OP is experiencing.
I would look into if your graphics driver is set to automatically update; any Nvidia driver version beginning with 572.xx has been causing system-wide issues across the industry to the point that games like Fortnite are warning players of driver issues with certain configs because of how often crashes/faulty behaviours occur.
