Games for Change Challenge: Win Up to $15k Cash Prize

Hi Creators,

The Roblox Civility Team is excited to announce a Roblox sponsored challenge with Games For Change. We are inviting developers from around the world to build impactful experiences on Roblox that promote positive connection, community, and/or online safety through play.

From the submissions, one first place and one second place winner will be selected. First place will receive a $15,000 cash prize and the second place will receive a $10,000 cash prize.

The Roblox Games For Change Challenge Prompt

Games for Change is partnering with Roblox to spur the creation of new games on the Roblox platform for all ages that equip players with the skills and strategies needed to foster positive digital community, build personal resilience, and protect against online risk, scams, and misinformation.

The Challenge: Encouraging Positive Connection, Community, and Online Safety through Play

Design a game on Roblox that enables players of all ages to learn and practice skills that foster positive communities, improve mental health, or help safeguard against online risks.

Example themes to explore:

  • Working together toward shared goals that lead to outcomes for the wellbeing of the community.
  • Building positive communication skills and empathy.
  • Reducing loneliness
  • Building resilience against online toxicity.
  • Safeguarding against online risks and protecting personal identifiable information.
  • Avoiding common online scams.

How will the winners be decided?

A panel of judges selected by Games For Change will review the eligible submissions and select a first place winner and second place winner. The winners will be decided based on excellence achieved in the following categories: Storyboarding & Message Quality, Potential Impact, Prosocial Design, Game Based Learning, and Progress & Polish.   • When does the submission window open and close?

    • Submissions will be accepted starting on January 30, 2026, and the deadline for all submissions is April 17, 2026 at 11:59 pm Pacific time.
  • Will there be more contests in the future?

    • While we cannot confirm there will be future contests, the Civility Team hopes this partnership showcases the creativity of our community and Roblox. We hope this will spur future contests with Games For Change or other organizations.
  • Who is the challenge open to?

    • The challenge is open to anyone who meets the requirements for publishing public experiences here and eligibility requirements set out in the official rules.
  • Why is Roblox partnering with Games For Change?

    • The Roblox Civility Team is always looking for new, fresh, and innovative ways to promote safety and civility on the platform. We are hoping that this challenge will bring innovative, engaging, and dynamic experiences focused on positive connection, community, and online safety to our community that they can experience together.
  • Is Roblox or Games For Change responsible for running the challenge?

    • The Challenge is administered by Games For Change, including the official rules, prize distribution, and overall management and organization of the Challenge. Roblox is a sponsor and will participate with Games For Change in reviewing submissions and selecting the two winners.
  • When will winners be announced? Will winners receive a prize?

    • Winners will be announced June 8, 2026.
    • There will be two winners from all submissions meeting the challenge requirements. There will be a $15,000 USD prize for 1st place and a $10,000 USD prize for 2nd place. Winners will be asked to send Games For Change an invoice and a completed W-8BEN form. Winners will receive the money in USD. For foreign bank accounts, the bank may or may not automatically exchange the prize money to the local currency at the rate of the day/time the bank received the money.
  • What happens with the winning experiences?

    • All submissions must be live and playable on Roblox. We hope to feature the winning experience at the 2026 Games For Change Festival and hope to feature them elsewhere such as on Roblox’s Civility and Wellbeing page.
  • What will happen to experiences not selected as winners?

    • We know that many of the experiences submitted will still prove to be engaging, fun, and a creative way to promote positive connection, community, and online safety. We hope that the submitted experiences will continue to be a place where our community can play, learn, and have fun in support of positive, safe, and civil connection on Roblox.
  • Is my current experience eligible for submission?

    • To be considered for the Challenge, experiences must be released or updated within the last 12 months (from the opening date of the challenge on 1/30/26) to include content fitting the challenge scope. Please see the Games For Change Roblox Challenge Page for full requirements. Experiences that are submitted, including current experiences, must meet these requirements to be considered for prizes.

Yeah no I’m sorry. Safety and sharing PII to a company that is in an active lawsuit which very likely sells this data and uses it for AI training purposes is no go. Either you’re unaware of whats happening or you all are genuinely delusional that age verification censorship will work to begin with.
