You can write your topic however you want, but you need to answer these questions:
What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
Understand why my game’s rating is so low
What is the issue? Include enough details if possible!
My new game prototype’s rating is quite low (27%)
What solutions have you thought of so far?
Sharing the game on Reddit, Discord servers and creations feedback? I follow the respective rules though.
After that, you should include more details if you have any. Try to make your topic as descriptive as possible, so that it’s easier for people to help you!
Replayability. There’s no fun gameplay loop to keep me in.
Spam attack, walk around enemies that just spawn… get more damage/health with money gotten…
Almost like there’s thousands if not millions of these kinda games both on Roblox and mobile app stores that follow this exact formula.
I wouldn’t consider it a game more than grinding in the most boring way possible.
If the combat had more variety to it or had some strategy with different enemies instead of scaled damage sponges, i’d actually bother playing if so.
Don’t think of advertising, its better to think of the game first
Play it for 20 minutes yourself then ask, what could make this more fun?
It’s not that hard to come up with ideas, good luck with development though!
I have a few assumptions: 1) your game really sucks and people don’t like it (Not bullying, just a theory) 2) The name and description of your game strongly disagree with the content of the game 3) there are a lot of bugs in the game 4) You have secret or famous ones enemies who ruin the rating of your game
Absolutely!
Stuff like an actual arena would be awesome too, hell you could evolve this into a wave based survival game.
There’s alot you could think of, there’s alot of room for improvement.
(Your game could really use icons and screenshots too, when i was going in i expected more from just its name. )
The progression just feels very linear.
I don’t feel like i’ve achieved something by simply scaling damage.
(it also doesn’t tell you what upgrades you’ve bought!)
So yeah, it is one of the main problems.
For the combat… It feels awkward really, spam left click with single animation in hopes this “enemy” doesn’t kill you by staring at you.
If there was SOME strategy instead of just circling around until you win, it would improve the game HEAVILY.
Hi there, it sucks to see that your game isn’t doing very well, I’ve been there.
But it’s not low rated for no reason. I’m sorry but it’s probably because it’s boring. I tried playing it and it’s just npc enemies spawning and you have to kill them. You don’t even play with other players; everyone gets their own plot. And there’s barely any progression, you can only buy a few things and that’s it.
I have a some suggestions:
fix the walking animation not playing on the npcs
Allow the player to see how much money they have
add more weapons that you can buy (like guns or abilities or something)
This one is important. your game seems to have a pretty *lame * objective. It’s just grinding to get upgrades. Nobody wants to do that. You should definitely make a new objective of the game. For example, make the map one big map where zombies come from a cave in waves and try to attack the player or a certain thing you are trying to protect, like a generator or the shop. This allows players to work together to defeat the zombies. You can either do a certain wave you are trying to get to (like holding off the zombies until wave 20), or endless mode, or even better, both.
I also got kinda frustrated when playing your game because your npcs keep killing me. This is mainly because your npcs are probably doing damage to me the very instant I touch them. Try making the hit delayed so players can dodge the enemy. (also try making a hitting animation for the zombies).
One last thing, I like the way you made zombies have different types. Try making zombies that are bigger, slower, do more damage (like tanks), or faster, less health, do less damage (like runners/sprinters). This would definitely make your game more engaging.
These are just some of the ways you can improve the game, and I people will like it more once you implement them. Also, please don’t get discouraged by the low rating, it happens to many new developers including me a few years ago, so don’t give up, you got this.
It’s the amount of unfinished aspects it has, for example the shop. It doesn’t even tell you when you bought something, and the UI is pretty unfinished.
To answer your question, yes, it would work, but it is harder to implement well. You’d have to do a lot more to make it interesting. If you insist on doing “random endless events”, you should try making an RPG game. But in my opinion, best and easiest way to make a zombie/pve game is to do wave defense.
