Ah, it seems to me like these games that you’re playing estimate whether you’re on a mobile device by checking whether touchscreen is enabled or not, so it’s giving a false positive. It could be that Roblox slightly changed the behaviour/order of checking something which is why it has only started happening.
I have a touchscreen laptop (however I mainly use my desktop) so I’ll check myself and see if I have the same issue.
I recommend playing Grace and going into the shop and looking at the bottom left or playing THE FOUNDATION and going into a run so you can see it quickly
It seems as normal to me. What’s your screen’s resolution, and did you update your OS recently? (Not that I’d know why this would cause an issue, just curious/fishing for possible reasons for the engineers)
Both “Grace” and “THE FOUNDATION”, I tried it on your resolution too just in case that was causing it to flag a false positive, but they both play as normal for me so I’m unsure
this happens because your pc is reporting a touchscreen / tablet input device to roblox, even if you don’t actually use a touchscreen. roblox detects that and switches the control scheme to mobile automatically.
you can fix it by disabling the touchscreen driver:
windows
press win + r
type: devmgmt.msc
open device manager
go to human interface devices
find hid-compliant touch screen
right click → disable device
restart roblox
this doesn’t uninstall anything, it just stops windows from telling programs that your device is a touchscreen. you can turn it back on the same way if needed.
I did some tinkering around and found that there IS a mobile UI on the desktop version. I wonder if the bug has to do with the OP’s computer. If it’s a Surface, or other computer with a detachable keyboard, that might explain it. My computer, on the other hand, doesn’t.
Myself and several other users are experiencing the same issue for one of our games, which is heavily shift-lock based. We’ve got several bug tickets + a forum open about the issue, and it’s causing our player count to drop, as well as making it so players are unable to progress through the beginning of the game.
I operate on a laptop with two monitors, the secondary smaller monitor being a touch display, and my device is being false-flagged as mobile. Annoying, to say the least. Hopefully someone at ROBLOX is looking into the false-flagging issue and working to refine the process of how mobile devices are determined.
