asset permissions make this feature far too restrictive for us to be able to realistically use it on our entire library of games. having to track down former contractors or employees to ask them to give us asset permission to edit the work that they authored for us years ago, sometimes totaling to hundreds of meshes, is frankly unreasonable.
as a result of this restriction and our entirely reasonable tendency to reuse assets across all of our games/groups regardless of who or what uploaded them, we cannot use this feature to export assets for further iteration/changes, and we cannot export scenes & characters for thumbnail artists
some of these problems are lessened by the existance of the obj exporter, but longstanding bugs and issues that we’ve been told would be solved by the gltf exporter make us wary. please reconsider - asset permissions for 2d/3d assets don’t stop bad actors and only make life harder for good actors.
