Grass Detailing Trouble!

Hello there! I am having trouble trying to figure out how I could make grass material not look so flat! So I had the idea of grass spots coming out of the grass its self! How ever. I am not using normal terrain, I am using triangle terrain because it really fits the style of my building! I was thinking decals but I don’t think it would work. I might try I am just having a problem on how this would even be possible! I am also trying to not use blender… I know it sounds almost impossible but if it really is that impossible I will go that far to try and learn blender again! This is for a project! :wink:

The only available solutions for you I can think of are:
→ Constructing grass through blender or any 3D software in general - and essentially importing it to your game.
→ Use beams with a single texture, that way you can enable the feature of facing camera to give a better visual touch. You would be also assuring performance through this method instead of duplications of 3D grasses that increase amounts of parts usage & tri count to an unnecessary amount which can be avoided.

Heres a plugin that might help with that:

(you can change the grass texture on the default grass model so it fits your game’s style, use sparingly though you don’t wanna add too many and lag da game)
Also learning blender will be very helpful to you!
You could make your own custom grass meshes and assets and everything under the sun :sparkles: :sparkles: wowie :heart_eyes:
