Discussion is a private category, though. You cannot receive badges in any categories not visible to signed out users. That’s what the little lock next to the Discussion text means.
In the pinned post about the category, it says that its visible to visitors. I must have taken that out of context and thought it meant everyone. Thank you for clarifying.
I didn’t realize Discussion was Member + since in the About Discussion Category post that’s pinned it says Visitors can see all the contents of this category.
I thought that it was saying everyone could see it. I did try looking up and most of the posts said that it had to be visible to everyone, that’s what I thought that the pinned post was saying.
Discussion is actually viewable by anyone logged into the devforum (even TL0 users). You can only login if your account is +13, anyone not logged in (possibly -13) can’t see it.
Can discussion just be made fully public then at this point I don’t see any illicit content in it, in addition to the fact anyone who wants to see it can just by logging in, it seems pointless to badge lock it when basically everyone who wants to see it can see it.
Discussion does have inappropriate content for under 13 users, including explicit words and some pornographic images from devs discussing exploits years ago (not sure if these have all been removed).
To even log into the devforum as a TL0 user your Roblox account needs to be over 13. Discussion can only be seen by logged in users.
Supposing the rules were changed and this content was retroactively removed, the overall quality of discussion would decrease because it’d be subjected to the same rules as help and feedback, resources, bulletin board, etc (no third party links, no discord tags, etc).
