Today, my friends Flyntics (Flyntics - Roblox) and wolferow (wolferow - Roblox) randomly had their UGC groups with 1,000,000+ Robux on them (In Pending robux AND Pended Group Funds) locked. The group holders received no ban note to explain why this ban was applied. These happened within a few hours Back to Back. This is a major vulnerability if this is a ban method and also extremely unprofessional from a company as big as Roblox is to take away someone’s revenue and not provide an explanation either through a ban note, a Roblox private message, or an email.
Expected behavior
Groups should not be able to be deleted without any reasoning or evidence behind it. If a group is moderated due to violating Roblox’s Terms of Use, a ban should be applied to the group holder’s account informing them of why their group was removed from the website. If the group was banned incorrectly via a malicious attack or false ban, the group is to be reinstated.
That’s very problematic, and as said, very unprefessional as people make UGC for a living, blocking income like that just adds confusion and lack of trust towards Roblox’s moderation and putting the owners of said group in a bad situation.
I noticed a similar ban happen the other day to a group that allegedly had over 3M+ in pending just for making item addons yet the holder was never warned, banned, etc. Pretty upsetting that Roblox is locking a lot of these groups randomly without any prior notice or warning to the creators despite the scale of the groups in question. Not to mention groups that actively steal other users’ UGC assets in the thousands don’t even seem to get this treatment at the moment. Hope this gets resolved.
Groups should at least be given a reason as to why they were locked. Locking them without reason (at least visible to the Community owner) is just unbelievable, especially considering most of them hold tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of USD that could be DevEx-ed.
Yeah it insane you’re right. The even more messed up part is that, by default, your UGC stays on the market getting sales so if you are unable to get unlocked roblox takes 100% of the profit from your sales and content.
Probably illegal to be honest, I may consider legal action if I remain locked. My group generated over a million sales and 10+ Million robux and for it to just be deleted on a random monday morning without reason or notice is ridiculous.
I’ll be marking this as Solved as they have contacted support and obtained the reasoning behind why their groups were locked, however this is still an issue. They should not need to reach out to support in order to know why their groups were locked. Some sort of message would’ve been nice, like a Roblox PM or a ban note.
