Hello everyone, I’m Atarss, and I’ve been a builder on the platform for about 7 years now. I want to share the 5 plugins I absolutely can’t live without as a part-by-part builder, as well as some plugins I believe builders, new and old, should steer clear of. And before I begin, this is just my opinion; feel free to leave yours in the replies!
Plugin #5: Auto Anchor
If you know building, you know how annoying it feels after finishing a build, heading to playtest, only to have to leave and anchor everything when everything collapses. This solves that.
Plugin #4: Celestial Body Dragger
For pretty obvious reasons, this plugin is phenomenal; it enhances lighting, adjusting to the maximum, and as a builder, I can confidently say that without lighting, a lot of builds would look pretty bad.
Plugin #3: Grass Maker 3023
As a builder who primarily focuses on terrain, this plugin helped speed up some of my most tedious builds to the maximum, with being able to adjust overhangs, size, depth, color, transparency, and even the material. This plugin is perfect for quickly adding grass to anything.
Plugin #2: Edge Bevel
Though it is a paid plugin, this plugin is wonderful, whether I’m working on a structural build or terrain, this tool instantly gives everything a glow-up.
Plugin #1: Lighting Manager
Ever hate manually switching your lighting back after moving to different environments? With this plugin, you’ll never have to worry about it again. You can save lighting styles and load them up with a click of a button.
For Plugins I’d stay away from, I’d include GapFill, Enhanced Studio, and Waterfall Generator.
Gapfill & Enchanced Studio
Both are nice on paper, sure, but the increased part count and poor optimization of these plugins make them not worth using.
Waterfall Generator
Though a beautiful well well-made plugin, it prevents creativity amongst builds, leading to every single waterfall to look the same. My advice? Learn how beams and particles work, and make your own waterfalls.
