Guidelines for allowing players to modify assets (Images, Audio) in your game?

Don’t see much talk about this subject, but hypothetically if you let a player edit a sign with an asset ID via a gui or something, and they plug in something copyrighted, or that slipped past roblox’s CoD, who’s liable? The game for allowing the player to insert an asset and then black mail the game as ‘having this in it’ or is it acknowledged its not the game’s fault and the user setting it or the original uploader is the one targetted? What about users able to edit the text of something?

I know some games already do this but I never see talk or warnings against it.

Well, there actually is an example of this happening already.

Rate my Avatar got deleted (fully) because they didn’t moderate users in their game for loading bypassed content.

Given that the bypassed content wasn’t exactly copyrighted material like lightning mcqueen, and it was far worse than anything you could think of, it’d still probably be smart to moderate.

tldr, everyone’s liable. If you don’t moderate, you’re liable and everyone else is, if you do moderate though, only everyone else is.
