Guys hear me out, this is the best idea

Hai, look at the DevForum button at the top of the screen.
Here’s what you’re probably thinking after me saying that:
‘Why’s it Forum and not DevForum? I just noticed that!’

Well that isn’t a big problem, infact it won’t be at all if Roblox adds my idea.

So here’s my idea:

The Forum button will stay as ‘Forum’ and it will be a dropdown instead of button.
There will be 2 buttons in the dropdown. They will be Forum, and DevForum.

Forum will just be for everyone. Swear words will be allowed but under 13 can’t see them (Only the word will be censored, not the whole message)

Forum will be used for literally anything, and pretty much just be the Lounge in the DevForum.

Forum will be an exact copy of the DevForum, same GUI, same code, and with the topic system.
Categories would be the following:

  • Chatting (just chatting with replies lol)
  • Updates (would be used for players announcing updates for their games)
  • Drama (yapping about drama)
  • Other (the exact thing devforum needs!!!)

There would also be a Wall feature, which is just Roblox group walls, it would be on the bottom of topics and the most recent one will be at the top. There would also be pinning, which would make any reply go to the top.

Also, Forum would be more accessible and be more used for announcing your games updates and features.

And my other awesome idea, ForumService, which would have a server-only function.

local ForumService = game:GetService("ForumService")
local Players = game:GetService("Players")
local Player = Players:FindFirstChildOfClass("Player") --example

ForumService:PromptForum(Player, "https://roblox.com/forum/t/litterally-this-post-4369476")

Then it would prompt the player with this:

This could probably be used for the DevForum too, but I decided to add it to Forum just for the whole theme of “for experiences to use often, and to be more roblox focused rather than development focused”

  • This will fix my life
  • Good update
  • I’m too used to clicking the Forum button and being entered into the DevForum instantly
  • I’m skeptical about moderation
  • Hard to decide unless they add it and I check it out
  • It wouldn’t affect me at all, so I don’t care
  • Completely trash idea

I think you shouldn’t have to leave the game, but instead something will cover you screen like when you open the ToS in-game.

Additionally, most users don’t have a DevForum account and logging in to access specific topics may lead to an increase in usage of the forum, so the backend would need to become faster.

true, that is a very good idea, plus the forum wont use devforum accs, itll use your roblox acc, no signup needed

In my heart I agree with this

but I remember that Roblox Forums existed back then about almost 10 years ago (even though my account was created a little later)

you can search what happened to them

additionally I recommend you putting a more descriptive title, like “I have the suggestion so you guys technically add the old Roblox Forums back”

i never said 34 whys it.. ykw i wont question it, and i wont ask why it forced me to put it here

pls do the poll then uh

the way you make the most amount of money on Roblox is keeping players in your game for the most amount of time, so you’re suggesting a feature that will prompt players to leave your game?

am I understanding your request correctly, I don’t think that this is a good idea, if you wanted to make an update board or something you can easily do what games like rivals does which is show a ui when the player joins. Rivals isn’t struggling with low ccu at all so if it works for them why can’t it work for your use case?

alot of people dont care about money, such as me
i make games for fun,
if roblox is gonna add everything i said (which they probably wont), hopefully roproxy would update and let you get all the contents of a topic, they should do that with the devforum too anyways

If your purposed method yields, you should rename it to PromptForumAsync.
