Greetings fellow artists!
I’m GuestCapone, a freelancing 3D artist with over 13 years in 3D graphics, you may have heard of me from my Twitter, where I’ve posted some UGC concept renders, guns, armors and other tidbits over the past 2 years, or you may have never heard of me. I’m wanting to do a collaboration with up to 4 other artists on a Roblox Halloween themed project called “Trickster Survival”, which is themed after trick or treating, but with a twist. The undead want your strawberry jelly coated brains!
This collaboration is going to be made almost entirely in Blender (or your prefered modeling and texturing application) before being rendered with Blender’s Eevee renderer. Blender 2.8 is not required, but is preferred for ease of sharing files between team members. What exactly we will be making will be discussed after a team is formed and we go over each others strengths and weaknesses, but the general idea of what we will be making is a simple vignette scene of 4-5 Chibi-like trick or treaters defending a location from the oncoming undead. The art style and direction is meant to be a stylized playful horror theme.
Down below is some artwork to get some ideas flowing through your head of what we could be making.
The finished project will result in a few still renders, and an 8-second long turntable animated gif, and everyone involved in the project are encouraged to repost said content on their own social media accounts.
Payment
This project is an unpaid, non-commercial collaborative effort between artists who simple just want to make something together without caring for fame or money. Although hopefully all members involved do get some recognition by the Roblox community!
Open Positions & Requirements:
If you are a modeler, texture artist or render artist who wants to get involved, then great! I’m looking to work with you all, however I do have to state some requirements since this is not a project on Roblox.
For modelers:
- You must be over 13 and have good communication skills, and be respectful to other members.
- You must be able to create assets outside of Roblox Studio. You may use Roblox Studio to export hats and meshes, although its encourage that you try to create as much as possible outside of Studio to improve your own skill.
- You need to be able to unwrap your own models. You should also be able to texture them or at the very least be able to clearly explain to the texture artist what the model should look like, including colors. Other wise don’t complain if what you have in mind is different then what the artist does.
- You must have a portfolio.
For Texture Artists:
- You must be over 13 and have good communication skills, and be respectful to other members.
- You must have a portfolio, and have experience with texturing 3D models.
For Graphic/GFX Artists:
- You must be over 13 and have good communication skills, and be respectful to other members.
- You must have a portfolio, and have experience with Blender, specifically Blenders render engine Eevee, as the project will be rendered completely in Blender, as well as all post processing will be done in Blender as well, unless you want to manually edit a few hundred frames in Photoshop.
