Help me get better

Hello: so 3 months ago I created my first ever accessory that is a ghost flying, positioned as a back accessory, and I need to understand what I could improve when I will create my next future item. It would be really nice if someone could give me an honest rating and tell me what to do better next time as I loved the process of creating something on blender, even tho it felt like controlling an airplane sometimes. I made that you can see whats behind the ghost by making the eyes invisible, and also when someone looks under it its invisible (I thought it would be a cool thing to do as ghosts are transparent)

Please if I did something wrong on this post let me know so I can learn and fix as its my first one. Forgot to mention my item is offsale now.

Hello :waving_hand:
I think the asset is good but i think the ghost should be semi transparent and maybe some glowing eyes of sorts? Over all i rat it a 9.8/10 awsome job :+1:

You can add a solidify modifier so that the inside isn’t see through.
Or duplicate it and mesh-normals-flip on the duplicated on then combine it.

I hope you are really proud of this one, it looks great.

Thanks a lot! I didn’t know about the solidify modifier or the normals trick, that’s super helpful. And thank you for the encouragement, it really means a lot as this was my first try🙏

I think the ghost which you have made is soooo amazing! Although I don’t have experience in making UGC but I do find the process and the concept very intriguing. I also have an idea. Do you know those black shadow figures that you can wear behind your character? It’s made out of vertical lines and when you turn your camera in a certain way it appears or disappears. You could try making the ghost like that! I think it would be cool because you know ghosts can do that I guess lol or.. there could be some white particles/smoke coming out of it to make it extra spooky?

Yes, that’s such a cool concept, thank you for the idea, even tho I have no idea how to do it but I will search about it!

You would do it the second tip I told you by using flipped normals, because you can’t see the back of normals.

You would need to deleted faces rows of faces using alt shift and then add sideways faces using F to make it sliced.

If a face is a weird shape, you can select to vertices across from each other and press J to join them.
