Help of my narrative/storyline planing of my MMORPG game

Hi everyone!

This is my first post so hopefully I’m doing this right. I’m planning to create an MMORPG surrounding the supposed fictional lore of Roblox, like Red Cliff, Korbloxian, Overseers, etc. I have access to some of the lore and want to create a sort of homage game (A game that has the concepts of the lore but isn’t considered to be a part of the storyline of the actual lore). However, I wasn’t sure if this was possible due to the lore having a decade on the Roblox platform and many players, since I don’t want to offend anyone, because I wanted to create a sort of homage and a playable RPG game for players to be aware of the creativity that transpired on Roblox a decade ago.

Would the narrative I’m planning be problematic to Roblox since they first started the lore through its catalog items, or the player-based communities surrounding the fictional stories of the catalog items? Or is it just completely fine, and I can continue with planning and start my development?

I’m thinking of just including surface-level canon (authentic actual lore) into the game and then going from there by adding a narrative and worldbuilding that doesn’t align with the Roblox lore.

If this doesn’t really make any sense, I’m happy to explain it more simply to help guide me on this issue.
