What do you mean by shelf? is it the gap ?

If so, you could use plugin called “gapfill” to fill the gap

Or, you use cornerwedge to fill Gap

Its quite unclear by what is in the picture, if possible can you have a more zoomed out image so it will be easier to see and provide solutions?
