Help with DataStores

Hey there, I’m trying to make a system where a player can “claim” an object that will be permanently in the game with their name saved in it. Only some of the first players will be able to claim those and have their names there.

I’m trying to use datastores to save their names inside each object, but I never really worked with datastores and don’t know how to use them. I’ve been trying to figure this out for hours but it’s really hard to work with datastores when you’re new.

So basically what I need is a system that detects if the data of this object is nil, and if it is make it claimable, but how would I do that?
