So, as the title says, I need help with ironing out ideas for my upcoming game. I don’t want the game to be revealed just yet as it’s a really large and exciting topic based off of real life (but I will once I get some feedback on this topic). I want to pretty much poll people on if my ideas are good, if they would work, and if they are too complicated. However, I need a large amount of people for that. My problem is: I can’t ask any questions if I don’t have anybody to ask them to. How would I get a community of people if they can’t even see the built game (I have scripts but just no building) would I need to pay people to think with me, create a group, a discord server, could I ask on the devforum (where would I even create the topic)?
Thanks for reading. Any response would be great!

Developers lately seem to have become obsessed with the notion of receiving feedback and suggestions on an experience without actually sharing any of the details. I personally don’t understand this fad but I know it’s a waste of time for everyone involved.
It’s virtually impossible to start a brainstorming session if you don’t share primary points that give context for what your experience is about. In that regard these priorities are in reverse: developers should strive to provide the general idea to get feedback for instead of waiting for arbitrary feedback before mentioning the game’s idea. It saves time and headache for coming up with suggestions so you get the immediate idea instead of artificially raising the time it takes to write feedback.
If you need a private feedback circle then… just create one from your community if you have one. If you want feedback from other developers without needing to go through additional steps then the DevForum in this very category is a good spot but not if you aren’t willing to provide context.

Thanks! I am going to release all of the details when I make the post. I agree with you about not telling anybody anything about your game and expect them to give you feedback lol. I am really excited to start, as this game is the one of the reasons why I started developing on roblox last summer and I want to make it right.
