Unlocking Roblox Kids and Select audiences just became much more accessible. Starting today, the Highly Engaged Player threshold has been cut in half from 500 to 250, opening the door for even more of your games.
Note: This change is to the entry bar - separate from the 25 Highly Engaged Player maintenance bar we introduced on July 16 to help already-qualified games stay in the Roblox Kids and Select catalog.
How This Fits With Recent Eligibility Changes
This is the third eligibility change to Roblox Kids and Select in the past two months. Here’s the full picture:
July 6: We relaxed the definition of a Highly Engaged Player. This increased the number of new games entering the catalog by 33%.
July 16: We lowered the maintenance bar from 100 to 25 Highly Engaged Players, so qualifying games stay in the catalog longer.
August 19: The entry threshold drops from 500 to 250.
How to Check Your Progress
Open Creator Hub and select your game.
Go to the Audience Reach tab.
Review your current Highly Engaged Player count against this new threshold.
We’re committed to continuing to lower the barrier to entry and bring more great games into Roblox Kids and Select over time. We’ll keep sharing updates as new changes roll out.

Why isn’t the expedited review fee being reduced as well? 50k would be much more reasonable to match the reduction from 500 → 250 highly engaged users.
This is good news but are there any plans for it to drop further in the future because 250 still seems unreasonably high? I wouldn’t complain if criteria for a “highly engaged player” became more generous so it is easier to reach.
Imo you guys should reconsider what a “highly engaged player” is
because right now it’s… a dumpster fire.
But sure, whatever. Not a bad update.
I hope this can be considered too, if the threshold was cut in half why can’t the price also be?
Also, are there any planned changes as to what will count as a “Highly engaged player”? I know the definition has been made less strict (although the criteria is still somewhat secretive) but will this be further relaxed over time?
This is still too high but it is a start. But its very hard to get highly engaged players especially as a small developer and for those who can’t afford to advertise their game
@RbxRocketMan My understanding of this requirement existing was to limit the amount of bad actors who make games that are inappropriate. Is there an internal metric that can be shared on effectiveness?
Neither Roblox nor creators want restrictions because it constrains creator output and causes frustration; I wonder what’s too much, what actually helps safety, is this requirement it, and how is that being decided.
@stlwildcard You have to understand not many developers have the necessary monetary value to spit out ads to have a chance at 500 highly engaged players.
