HingeConstraint spazzes out when switching from Motor to Servo

AMD Ryzen 5 5600G w/ Radeon, 8.0GB, AMD Radeon™

When switching from Motor to Servo on the HingeConstraint, The ring should rotate to be vertical and stop then, except the ring rotates to be vertical, then jitters after doing so, even though the SetAngle has not changed after that.

this doesn’t happen if the seat is empty and the ring turns vertical, but if a player is in the seat, the constraint then starts spazzing out when the servo moves the ring to be vertical. All the parts that are connected to/around the ring have CanCollide off, even the ring itself.

I use constraints for this so the ring doesn’t slide around when the car moves, but i haven’t played with other constraints all that much, so please let me know if there is anything I could try that wouldn’t do this.

Expected behavior

The model in question is a recreation of the Flip Zone Bumper Car by Amusement Products. After the ride is over, all bumper cars should rotate the seats to be vertical so riders can safely exit. after doing so, the ring shouldn’t move unless the rider moves it via button press. The ring, under any circumstances, should not shake like in the video, or at all.

This isn’t really a major problem, but it’s enough to get on one’s nerves and could potentially lag the game.

Temporary fix: I’ve increased the mass of the ring and it seems to have stopped this behavior

Hi there! Thanks for reporting this! Do you have a minimal repro file that you can share with us?

After attempting to isolate and reproduce the bug, I can’t seem to actually reproduce the bug.

Many thanks!

Glad to hear it, but please let us know if it happens again!
