It makes much more sense for you to take the extra five to ten minutes of your time to describe your game than for a bunch of people to take several minutes of their time just to be able to decide if they should consider the opportunity.
They ARE though. I dont think someone would want to go out of their way to get in contact with you for details.
Its much easier to just list them so this way whoever does contact you actually knows what they are getting into instead of going in and discussing details blindly.
To expand on above, I use to find work for someone.
I would simply scan the DevFourms everyday and find what work I can find, or give an update on the state of Roblox for that of which is public.
Quite simply, what are you bringing to hook me in? What are my barriers to entry? Is this worth my time? Or even, how am I going to explain this job to someone quickly and easily?
If I had to message you to get details, I have to be damn sure that your idea is something my client is in the range to do.
Also your idea is never original, nothing is. I just want the basic idea about your idea and I want to respect my time and your time by avoiding unnecessary barrier of just getting the jist of the role.
Even if your idea is original now, it’s never in the future. If you remain dead quiet about the details long enough, someone is going to actually complete it for you, expect you won’t see the results. I would know, it’s happened to me.
Then again that’s from what I’ve seen and found, someone else could feel differently.
TL; DR - Respect yourself and others time, don’t create unnecessary barriers of entry. Good luck on finding someone.
If you do not want to give any details, that’s fine.
though, take in mind that if someone doesn’t know you, the thread introduction is the first impression someone have about you, and you’re giving us a pretty bad one when people can take up to a hour to write their post and show their current prototype/progress & sneak peak. (and you don’t)
of course, it could have some exceptions, but the whole revenue is 40%, this kind of pay is very often taken for a long-term contract (often work before & after release) and believing/trusting the project’s Concept & Team that it will be delivered and successfull.
You currently shows a effortless introduction, ultimately the minimum of the Template, best case scenario with minimal writing is to put your portfolio or similar, talking with visuals instead.
You should really explain the game. Or atleast some part that the programmer will be doing. It’s going to be hard looking for one when a scripter can’t get an idea of the job he/she will be getting into.
Also, this post is very unprofessional. It seems like you took the minimal time writing this and I suggest you use the template or atleast take time to work on it more.
