HONEST REVIEW of my game

So yesterday I finished up my horror game about a Toilet. I also posted it on the DevForum and got some awesome feedback. So today I have spent most of it on making a update to the game which involves bug fixes, lag issues and a new level.

I wanted to ask all of you what you thought of the new game? Any feedback, any improvements? I would love to hear

Here is the game: The Toilet. - Roblox
Thanks!

Hm.

Might be a bit harsh, the game is not really scary at all. If it’s a joke game then it’s understandable. You can speedrun in literal 5 minutes and it’s very confusing to start in the beginning. Architecture, such as building doesn’t make much sense. You spawn in an area of buildings surrounding you, making it impossible to actually enter. A better idea would be to use public restrooms. And some other things I noticed:

  • Whenever an evil person is talking, the UI is really offset, going to the left.
  • I am not sure, but there a bit too many free assets. Even tho’ this isn’t a bad thing, the game might look to basic because of that.
Tips

If you want some tips on how to actually make it scary, here are two tips:

  • Normal form of conversation; not using any type of shortcuts and/or use language which is spoken to make the conversation feel like “yea yea idc lol”. Usually Antagonists or Evil people tend to speak in a sarcastic tone. But using the serious tone is also okay.
  • Story Elements; This is usually optional. Whenever you want slight form of Story, implement it. It can be hidden, or directly told. A story makes the player feel with the character sometimes. This tends to get “dragged in” into the story.

Thank you I’ll try to make a change like that but good tips !

is it just me or is it way to laggy even for me a pc player? edit: I have lowest graphics on and still laggy

There must be Performance issues with assets. I think he used a lot of free models, which can be extremely laggy.

The game was very short, and was a bit uninteresting after a minute or two. Perhaps there could be more content within the story?
I’m not really critical of any modeling or UI issues, since I know that any game can be scary with the right tactics in mind. However, the game didn’t spark any fear into me, likely due to the bright nature of the scenery, and predictable sounds. Darkness and excellent sound design can make any game, no matter how basic or complex in nature, a scary game.

To be frank, the only thing that would make this game engaging is to increase the length of each ending, while also making the game actually scary. Fear alone would carry poor story writing and/ or modeling. The game wasn’t good, but it definitely can be.
