Horror game made in a couple of hours

Yesterday I wanted to see how fast I could slap together a horror game under a couple of hours, this was the result.

There is a huge problem I have, on mobile you can’t look around and the movement is glitchy.

The maze thing seems a bit confusing (maybe because I couldn’t turn lol), but I wasn’t able to actually play because I’m on a phone.

Interesting! Thanks for letting me know, looking into it now.

My friends and I love playing horror games.

In a couple of hours, I’ll get them all on and we’ll all play this together. I’ll share feedback once we finish it!

Hi I played your game and it was very good! I do have a question, how can I go full screen or you can’t go full screen?

I think it has a lot of potential, definitely needs a lot of polishing but I can see it being one of those games that blow up.

Some things I found:

  • Lots of unfinished areas where you can fall off the map.
  • The shadows with the light are cool but glitchy, double edge sword if you ask me.
  • Lack of lore.

The only thing that I really saw is that this was not made in a couple of hours but 2 whole years.

Other than that is a good game.

The Future lighting doesn’t really help considering the shadows are directly blocking your viewpoint, and you can’t outrun the monster.

If this took me two years that’d be truly tragic. This game was overlayed on top of another creation.
This: Elysium - Roblox is another game that I’ve been working on over the span of a few months. So if this was the result of a year, that’d be pretty sad in comparison.

Thanks for the feedback! I am updating the map as we speak, I’m thinking about making the lantern die as time goes on or even as the monster gets closer as a taunting effect.

you should made the monster more visible because I played the game and the monster suddenly appeared out of nowhere and killed me.

I tried to add in some audible clues as to when he’s getting closer to you…turn up your volume if you haven’t already. I plan on also adding an insanity meter.

Perhaps that you can add footsteps. Thats how it works in Piggy.

Ok next time you might want to put that when your saying it was made in 2 hours. That could confuse some people.

It does though, it’s in the title of the thread and the body of the post. Lolwut.

Love this idea! I’ll definitely implement that in the future.

what I meant is that It says the world was made 2 years ago you should have said something about that to let people know about that part.

I just increased the range of the point light and amped up the brightness bit. Maybe that will help?

All and all, this is very impressive for 2 hours. However, some things could be fixed.

  • Get rid of the arm, or at least move it. The placement on the screen threw me off and took me and my friends out of the moment.
  • The monster wasn’t that scary, knowing that it kinda just walked around and then slashed you.
  • The “I see you” was more funny than creepy.

Although, I don’t wanna be Mr negative, so here’s some things that I loved:

  • The lighting looked very nice, with the fog and all the detail it really gave a great effect.
  • This seems like something with a lot of potential, it could be a great game if there was more to do and possibly lore.
  • The fact that you slapped this together in 2 hours is very insane.
  • The pathfinding script for the NPC worked very well, and I didn’t notice any glitches like running into walls or not being able to find the player.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the feedback! I’m thinking about adding in a few more creatures to spice it up a bit.
