We have made Resorts World, a game where you can build and manage your own hotel. We’re hyped about it, but we’re seeing a bunch of players dropping out during the tutorial, and our analytics are looking kinda sad.
Basically, we think our onboarding might be failing hard at explaining the core mechanics.
This is where YOU come in! We need your expert eyes and honest opinions. Could you take a look and help us figure out what’s breaking?
We’d be incredibly grateful if you could take a look and share your thoughts. Specifically, we’re wondering:
At what point, if any, did you feel lost or unsure of what to do?
Were the tutorial instructions clear and easy to understand?
Did you feel the game prepared you well for the challenges that came after the tutorial?
What was the most confusing part of the initial experience?
You can play the game here: Resorts World
Any and all feedback is welcome, even if it’s brutally honest. Thanks so much for your time!

Upon closing the 3 notifications that popped up on my screen I accidentally closed the “New Hotel” modal and now this is stuck on my screen.
It still lets me click underneath it looks like I cannot and the preparing your plot does not move from this.
Upon creating my hotel, it asks me to build a foundation.
The “highlighted area” initially confused me and I was trying to build in the big red highlighted area and it took me a while to notice the tiny cubes on the floor telling me where to build.
After I completed all that and it tells me to add a guest, I would suggest combining both “First” and “Last” name since when dragging them it’s quite weird because they can both be considered first or last names.
It also won’t let me spawn the guest.
Also just some further advice, if you sponsor this game target older people because I feel as though this would be very confusing for young people and would absolutely destroy your analytics.

We’ll fix this quickly, thanks for letting us know.
Should be fixed.
Let me know if anything else pops up!
