How can I create these reflections

Recently I’ve been trying to create a realistic lighting system for my game, and I stumbled upon these reflections and thought they looked really nice. So far I’ve tried messing around with transparency, reflectance, material, etc, but I can’t figure out what is actually happening here:

The reflections I am talking about are the slightly pixelated ones you can see in the windows on the right.

maybe the glass or whatever the window is, has a decal that is pixelated , and like at trans .5 …

Im looking at it again now and it might be that but the weird thing is that its the same thing in every window. Can you get decals or surfaceGuis? to have similar behavior?

Use “realistic” lighting mode, make sure your window is glass texture, and your window frame is metal. (Not plastic!) You can play around with the “reflection” slider a little bit but don’t make it too extreme! It will turn blue and look like a mirror. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Btw to do that just use reflections like duh?! It works for me so should with you too. Roblox’s reflections just do that.

Roblox reflections only reflect the sky and light sources, not parts themselves, which is what i’m trying to achieve here.

It’s actually a material variant. You can find a material variant similar to this in the UGC Homestore Template or in the toolbox.

This is exactly what I was looking for, Thanks! Do you know if the materialVariant has to be plastic or if it can be applied to other materials? If not thats fine I’m just kind of curious

I’m glad I could help you! To answer your question, yes, the material variant must be plastic because it overrides the plastic material. You can find more information from here:

If you want material variants that work in other materials, you can find more in the toolbox.
