How can I formally file a DCMA complaint to Roblox?

Hello!

There is a user who purchased one of my private assets which I created to be purchased and used by the users who purchased it. This individual decided to redistribute it to users without my (the creator) permission. Those users are now using the content in their games and I was wondering how I would file a DCMA complaint to Roblox regarding the games in question? I contacted the individuals and I am awaiting a response, however I want to know how I would go about filing this request for future reference/if they don’t respond?

I took a look at the post created by Roblox themselves, however the post seemed to be regarding public assets the user wants to be removed from the website.

On Support - Roblox there is a drop-down for DMCA. Please pick that and then enter all any any information needed for the investigation.

They say they might take long, but I got same-night support last night when I messaged them for an unrelated reason.

Thanks for that. I’m on the website currently and was wondering what information would be needed? I have the games/users which are using the content, however what do I have to provide to prove ownership? Also would I have to include the user who distributed it to them?

They should investigate the ownership part for you. And you should provide the users of the people who took them. If the user publicly leaked it, put the username of the person who originally stole the assets because they are responsible.

Thanks for that.

Just to clarify from my part, I sold the asset to a user who was authorized to use it, but this authorized user distributed it as well without permission. Do I report the authorized user who distributed it without permission?

You should mention their name in the report to be safe, but if you sold it to them then roblox might not be able to help. The user who was not authorized was breaking rules though because they were never intended to own the asset.
