How could I make my game as addicting as possible

So I have had too many game flops, and I just want a popular game at this point.

I will be taking this into mind as well

Here is the game concept:

Defend a garden

You have a house with two gardens, the inside garden and the outside garden. People can steal from the outside garden, but you can only plant the best seeds in the outside garden. When plants grow up, they turn into a random plant depending on the seed. These plants all have abilities and different weapons. You then have 2 or 3 teams you control, each you can swap what plants are on that team.

Around the map are objective points, with bots defending those points. When you capture a point with your team, it spits out a high quality seed pack. You then have to run back to your base, avoiding other players and plant the seed, then defend the seed while it grows.

That’s basically the idea.

Few things to note

  • You can change yours plants priority (target bases, target plants holding seeds, etc)

  • You can play as a plant, it’s not locked to your bots.

  • I’m going for gameplay similar to pvz:gw2

Any tips I could use to make my game better would be highly appreciated, even if it changes the game a lot.

Can you provide your past “flops”? It’s important to acknowledge what went wrong in order to move forward.

Mainly games I didn’t finish and concepts that I got too deep into that didn’t work.
