I’ve recently finished a project I’ve been working on, It’s called “Discarded”
Here’s the game link if you wish to play it: Discarded - Roblox
I started advertising it today! I wasn’t expecting player’s to come back but just to see how they like the game. (The game was filled with tons of bug’s)
From the feedback It seemed all of them really liked my game and noted it had potential. A few played multiple rounds of the game just to bug test with me. and some donated
I’ve released a few games now but none have ever blown up or gain a consistent player base. So I wanted to know any successful developers who would know how to gain a player base.
I suppose to some up my question: I just don’t know where to go after releasing a game.
I’ve got some suggestions to help improve new and current players’ experiences.
Looking at the game, the main aspect needed would really be a tutorial for both in the lobby and in the actual minigames for new Players:
With the amount of effects going on in your lobby, it might help to guide Players to the queue and give them a quick visual overview of what they can expect from your game rather than throwing them into the game.
Maybe you can show a more visual tutorial for each minigame you have, rather than using solely text to explain a game. This helps un-complicate each minigame and makes it slightly easier to understand for all Players.
Here are some other suggestions you can take into consideration to help boost engagement:
A leaderboard! Make it such that Players who’ve made it through the minigames would be awarded a win, so it could help increase the competition amongst Players.
Badges would be a good thing to consider too! Maybe for certain achievements in the minigames (e.g. being the first to complete the obby with a server of 5+ players, being the first to electrocute someone to death, making it through the maze)
