How do I get lighting in cycles render in blender?

Recently made something using a rig and found I couldn’t disable cycles. How do I add lighting to it as the normal lights in blender don’t seem to be working. I could also use Workbench although it goes all grey/white so I don’t what to do.

Okay, to get even and applaudable lighting, just follow these steps:

  1. Locate the node editor, it looks something like this:

  2. Check the highlighted area(image below) to “World”

Your node editor should now look like this:

  3. Go Add > Texture > Enviornment Texture ( I couldn’t add it to the photo because it kept disappearing)

  4. Now set it up so it looks somethign along the lines of this:

  5. Now go to this website, and find a really good setting that you like: HDRIs • Poly Haven

  6. Once you’ve downloaded this, click “Open” in the new node you added:

  7. Now, locate the new texture you downloaded and apply it.

Now, you should see this in blender:

Want to keep the lighting but get rid of the background? No problem.

  1. Go to this tab (located at the right of blender)
  2. Open “Film” dropdown and tick Transparent.

Final result:
