How do I get rid of the new forced UI?

I can tell you with certainty we’re going to close tickets asking for a toggle between the UXs - it simply not possible, its two completely different code bases, one of which is now removed.

I totally get that, and I myself have lamented that a lot of the fantastic discussion we’ve had on this since the first public release 18 months ago is buried in ~1500 deep message threads. We’ve tried to summarize main points with each megathread, but even so some of the interaction is too hard to find. We have many many examples of feedback going directly back into the product.

And yes, plenty of discussions around adaptation. One of the main things to realize is there had never been a realignment of the interface at least since the original ribbon was rolled out a decade ago. Things had been place because they had to go there, and there weren’t great options as to where a rare item should be. Now we have multiple options, and things that most of the users don’t interact with aren’t set in prime positions on default tabs - they’re moved back to top menu slots, or places like the visualization mode gadet for things like constraint visualization. This also serves to group “like with like” - if you need to bring up a panel, its always under “Window”, any visualization mode is under that viz mode gadet, etc. Its not guess work, and its not required to memorize the placement of the box in a field of 20 “chiclet” buttons.

The other half of that is if you do care about the button, you don’t care that no one else used it - you did! That’s why we’ve spent a lot of time on customization because no UI is “one size fits all”. And if there is a configuration you like, you can create it, share it etc. I’ll link this project again because its a good starting point if there’s a specific layout you really needed and don’t feel like building something on top of the defaults.
